Delacolline Winery & Restaurant
From the Delacolline website:
Delacolline Estate was conceived by a group of enthusiastic wine loving friends and vine planting was initiated in 1984. The first commercial wine production occurred in 1991, and since then there have been some alteration to the varietal mix as we strive to achieve the best grape production for our location.
Our wines have received a number of awards, the best so far being a gold medal and trophy for the 2001 Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon blend in the Adelaide Wine Show of that year.
Delacolline is the only lavender farm on Eyre Peninsula and was planted purely as an idea at landscaping and to beautify an area of land that is basically limestone.
That was in 2006 and we now have 2 acres of beautiful sweet smelling lavender. One of natures wonders particularly when driving in on a hot summer day to the heady aroma of lavender.
We now harvest and produce Pure Lavender Oil, Lavender Massage Oil, Lavender Moisturising Cream and Lavender Mist (Lavender Water), and Lavender Sachets.
We have been amazed at the information and remedies visitors have passed on to us, some of which are; lavender soothes headaches, helps with leg cramps, sore muscles and helps induce sleep. Also calms restless children.
